Playing Dress Up with Shirt Dress

Writing is not easy, and  requires some peaceful mind and time to jot down thoughts which can connect with others. I hadn’t had writer’s block all these months while blogging in this website, but it happened to me this month. And I believe it is due to my mind being constantly juggling between technical solutions , personal chores and long travelling time to work. I needed some Me time, So I took half day leave and went for a hair spa(will blog about the review soon) and also attended an event where I met other bloggers and realized all of us are doing multi tasking.

So, Finally I have recovered from a two-week bout with writer’s block as I write this post. I enjoy writing fashion posts more than any other as I get to shoot different styles of mine. Today, I shall talk about the way I have styled a shirt dress in 4 ways. We had posted about shirt dress trend last summer too, check out here.  This Shirt Dress I received from Bewakoof brand whose clothes I had styled earlier as well. This particular dress can be found in their Casual Dresses section.

What is a shirt dress, you ask? Basically it’s a longer version of a shirt, button-down usually, slightly over-sized, that looks like a shirt but acts like a dress as well. Isn’t that just perfect for this summer heat?

Look 1:
Wearing the Shirt Dress with a beige colored ankle length boots here, as they are perfect for a very boho chic style. One inside secret about wearing these shoes is, my feet sweats a lot during summer so I prefer wearing only covered shoes with socks inside. I have styled it with a back pack bag in light denim color. Tie up your hair or let it free according to your personal choice.

Look 2:
Get more feminine look even with shirt dresses by pairing it with a high waist pleated skirt. Since the shirt is monochrome, I paired it with bright colored skirt which is apt for summers. I have also worn a statement metallic neck piece to make the look more girly. You can style this look with great pair of sandals too!

Look 3:
You can make it cinched at the waist by wearing a belt. Here I have worn a thin belt, which is better in my opinion for a shirt dress. I have folded the sleeves and added on a bracelet for this look! You can wear Stilettos to make this look even better. I couldn’t carry them for my shoot 😦

Look 4:
Wear it like a regular shirt by pairing it with a Capri pants. I have kept the Monochrome look of the shirt by pairing it with white pants and shoes. This can be worn to office in case you are not allowed to wear short dresses.

  1. Writer’s block hits all of us when we are over worked. The best idea is to take some time off from writing and refresh.
    Loving the styling here.
